Verado leaves the opposition for dead
|
Aussie tournament angler, Kris "Pup" Hickson, has yet another way to beat the competition - a top speed of 113 km/h!
Kris, from Taree, has a 175 Mercury Verado outboard on the back of his Stratos 285 XL so he's always been quick, but his dad Jim recently stepped it up.

One for the Rankings Followers
|
|
The BREAM Pro Rankings take into account the top five finishes per year for an angler over the preceding two years. At this stage of the season - after the qualifiers have finished - anglers are about to drop their 2006 Grand Final performance and take on their 2008 BREAM GF result.
The Grand Final is an important event, because it's worth more rankings points than any other event during the season. You get 70 points for winning a GF, compared with 50 for winning a Super Series and 40 for a regular qualifier.

Tas BREAM Classic - Derwent River
|
|
The Berkley round of the Tas Classic
series was fished on a very cold Derwent River over the weekend. With water temps of
4-10 degree's the fish just weren't there. The only fish that were caught were
in a small feeder creek of the Derwent called the Jordan, where
eight boats managed to squeeze in and catch some fish. Even these fish succumbed
to pressure and shut down on day two.

Berkley Hollowbelly- 3" version launched
|
The Berkley Hollowbelly baits in 4 inch and
6 inch sizes have certainly created interest in the tropical impoundment
fisheries. Big barra are falling to them as are more southern species like
jewfish, kingfish, trevally, salmon and tailor.
Now, a little 3 inch version is here and
for the estuary angler intent on bream, flathead, jacks, trevally and even the
freshwater species, bass and trout, this new bait will be real winner and
should be in every soft plastic arsenal.
