Mercury powers the podium at Daiwa BREAM Australian Open

Mercury
powered boats have totally dominated the winners list at the Daiwa BREAM
Australian Open held on Sydney
Harbour.

The top
four finishers all had Mercury outboards. In fact, nine of the top 15 anglers
were Mercury men.

Super-consistent
New South Welshman Ian Seeto took out top honours with a 10.11kg total securing
his first ever ABT tournament victory.

While a bag
of 9.51kg saw Russell Babekuhl (NSW) finish the Open in second place, the
result was good enough to lift him to No.1 in the overall BREAM rankings.

Ford Bonus- It Pays to Own a Ford

ABT's Sponsor Bonus Program extends wider than simply your fishing tackle in 2012.

Longtime AFC and ABT sponsor Ford have come onboard and are rewarding anglers (boaters & nonboaters) at each stop of the Daiwa BREAM Series.

How does it work? Simply own a Ford (registered in your name), put your name down at the event registration, then finish higher than the other Ford owners in the event and you'll be $250 richer.

See it does pay to own a Ford.

Skeeter/Evinrude BREAM Classic Championship Qualifiers

Once you qualify for the Skeeter/Evinrude BREAM Classic Championship, you can fish with whoever you like - as long as they're also qualified. This allows anglers from the other side of the country to hook up with locals and be competitive. With the Classic Championship, if you don't use your invitation, it evaporates - unlike the Individual GF, where we replace a no-show with the next from the list.

2012 Daiwa BREAM Grand Final Qualifiers

Here's the 2012 BREAM Grand Final Qualifiers list.
The prize for the 2012 Daiwa BREAM Grand Final is a BassCat boat/Mercury outboard package for the winning boater and a CrossXCountry boat/motor/trailer package for the winning non boater.

Also, a Hobie ProAngler kayak for the runner-up non-boater.
Here's the Qualification Pathway.

• Encumbent GF Champion (1)

• 5 qualifiers per Qualifying round (40)

• Top AOY Placings who haven't already qualified (9).

A change for 2012 is that if an angler declined their place form an event-qualification, then this place will be replaced by the next angler down on the AOY list. This makes it much easire for anglers to plan their trip to the Big Show!
